The West Virginia Shop hop has been moved to July. We are excited to be participating in the Row by Row Experience and we will once again be holding a pillowcase workshop for Conkerr Cancer. Just to name a few upcoming events.

EXCITING NEW CLASSES
We are happy to be offering several exciting new classes. Many classes require a sewing or embroidery machine; please let us know if you would like to use one of ours. Class fee is due when you register. You can sign up at the store, by phone or e-mail. If registering over the phone or e-mail, you must have a valid credit card. Receipts and class supply lists will be mailed to you. Full refunds on class fee will be given if you cancel seven days in advance. After that, a 50% refund will be given provided you give us 24 hours’ notice. If you do not attend a class and we are not given 24 hours notice, there will be no refund or rescheduling of your class. Classes may be cancelled if Cabell County schools are closed for snow or ice (please call ahead and use your own judgment in inclement weather). If we cancel classes, they will be rescheduled or class fee refunded. Stop by the store to register for your class. Please be considerate of your teacher and fellow classmates who may have allergies – refrain from wearing scented lotions and perfumes.
Please have your fabric and supplies purchased before the beginning time of your class.

The Embroidery Club meets once a month to learn new techniques and ideas on machine embroidery. Since the classes have become large, registration is now required to hold your spot: classes will be limited. Be sure to sign up early so we will have ample time to provide enough kits for some of the projects. The club is held the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10:00-12:30, 1:00 – 3:30 or from 5:30 – 8:00. Cost is $10.00 per each class session. Class limit is 6 per session. Please check your supply lists for class or call to make sure you bring everything you need. Please note that Sandy rarely cancels her classes due to the weather.
May 26th - Pansy Mug Rug As late as spring can be. Our pansies are beautiful. Stitch up a beautiful flower basket mug rug and do th e quilting in the hoop. This can be used many ways not just as a mug rub.
June 23rd – Curling Iron Caddy This is entirely made in the hoop. Makes a great travel accessory! It has a hanger to fit on the doorknob for storage. Make some for gifts!
July 28th Cutwork Table Topper - Learn how to sew out cutwork with this project. A wonderful design for guest towels or pillow cases also.
August 25th – Applique and lace bookmarks. – This cute bird bookmark can be personalized by you for the person who loves to read.
****Any machine brand can be used in the Embroidery Club. However, we do not know all the machines, so you need to know how to use your machine.

Fancy Ladies/A Quilted Heart Baskets
Due to popular demand we are continuing the Fancy Ladies Redwork Block and Quilted Heart Baskets block of the Month.
This will be held the third Thursday of each month at 5:00 Cost is $15.00 and includes pattern, fabric and floss. If you have already started on the ladies and would like additional help or have decided you would like to embroider more of the ladies please come. Haven’t started them? This is the perfect time to get started.

Tuesday April 21st. 5:00-8:00 It will continue on the third Tuesday of each month thru
September. So you will have plenty of time to finish it for Christmas.
You must purchase your fabric in the beginning.

If you have not seen the actual quilt, you need to come see it.

ConKerr Care Pillowcase Event
Our Conkerr Cancer pillow case event has been scheduled for Saturday September 12th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (on the other side of Dairy Queen.) From 9:00-3:00. Last year we made 165 pillowcases. Our goal is to make more this year.
Snacks, drinks and a light lunch is provided.
We will have kits made up and ready to go. Thanks to Kohl’s and Foust for donating money and great prices on fabric. If you wish to donate fabric that would be great also.
All you need to do is come. We need people to sew, iron, trim, pin and turn.
We will provide some machines. If you can bring your own that would be great.
The more people we have the more pillowcases we can get completed.
We have two tickets to the Ricky Timms/Alex Anderson event in Morgantown, WV July 17th and 18th.
We are going to give these tickets to one lucky person. (she can choose which friend she wants to go with her). Just come in during our Open House on May 15th or 16th and talk to Heidi or Winona to get your name in the drawing. We will draw the lucky winner on Saturday the 16th at 3:00 p.m.

Row by Row Experience June 21st thru September 8th
We are pleased to announce that we will be participating in the Row by Row Experience this year. Quilt stores in all Fifty States are involved. This years theme is H20.
Each store will have a row pattern and kit available for their row. Rows are 9.5″ by 36.5″
You collect patterns or kits at different stores to make up your quilt.
Patterns are free. Each store will have their price for the kit.
Many Stores have designed a license plate that you can purchase to add to your quilt or make other projects.
Many of the fabric companies have designed fabric just for the Row by Row.
You cannot purchase kits or fabric or receive a pattern until the official start date.
We are also not allowed to provide patterns or sell kits outside the store (vending events) or by mail.
Sew Many Blessings Annual Sewing/Quilting Retreat
Our sewing/quilting retreat will be August 14th – 16th
at Carter Caves State Park. Cost of the retreat is $40.00.
Retreat begins at 9:00 on Friday and ends at 1:00 on Sunday.
On Friday August 14th Sandy will be teaching a class for those who are interested from 9:00-4:30.
You can bring anything you want to work on during the retreat. We do have games, door prizes, etc.
You must be registered and fees paid by Saturday August 8th.
