Spread Your Wings And Fly with Embroidery

We are excited to have a Kimberbell Trunk Show

 during the Retreat!

2017 Sew Many Blessing Embroidery Retreat   April 7-9th

Friday April  7th at 5:30 will start this year’s retreat. We have some fun things planned for everyone. We will start the Retreat with a easy baby quilt with chick appliqués. Using the Go Baby die cutter you will appliqué a few chicks on the corners of a precut baby panel. A fun fast way to make a cute project.

The main project is OESD’s Dresden Appliqué. A Bed Runner is the sample but you can choose to make the appliqué blocks into a wall hanging, pillows, or a quilt. You can use a jelly roll for your appliqués or use one fabric to make your blocks faster. We will show both techniques.  You may bring your own materials or purchase a kit from the store.

Cost of kit to make it just like Sandy’s is $85.00 and does not include thread.

If you would like to make it into a quilt we can help you figure the material.

Saturday before lunch we will have a fun Power Point and Sewing Demo using Kimberbells new Design c-d 3-D Mylar.  You will water color and assemble a card to take home. (we have sewn out the cards and flowers for you)!  And we will explain the Towel Chick Challenge. Buy and towel and join in… You can win a great prize!

Saturday evening we will play the right , left, center game so bring three embroidery items or sewing notions to join in the fun!

Sandy has designed a retreat shirt design with this year’s theme. We will email it out around the first of April.  So make sure your payment has been made by then.

Friday morning at 9:00 we have an extra project: Fashionista Purse.  Cost of Kit to make purse is $75.00  Teachers Fee: $10.00  There will be a thread kit available for $39.99.

This professional looking purse is made out of Designer Fabrics. It will be a kit which will include all fabric, batting and hardware.

 Dear Friends,

It is hard to believe spring is here already.  It is harder to believe that Sew Many Blessings will celebrate our tenth Anniversary in July.  Things have sure changed from our opening day in 2006.  We were excited to have 500 bolts to start with and now we have almost 2,000,  almost tripled our space and now carry Baby Lock Sewing Machines.  We have made a lot of new friends and hope to make even more.

We have a full schedule of classes and events in the next four months.  We are excited about our new classes.  Sandy will be teaching the new Fold-n-Stitch wreaths.  They are one of the best selling patterns in the US right now.  JoAnn will be teaching a Tuffet Class.  This is a great additional to any quilters home and would make a great gift.  We also have the Salem’s Witches Quilt Guild Class, and a beginning Bargello class,  just to mention a few of our new classes.

The West Virginia Mountain Quilt Quest Shop Hop is July 20th thru 23rd.  You will not want to miss this year’s special fabric.  The theme is WV Wildflowers and the fabric was designed by WV Artist Dorothy Post Swick.  It is beautiful.

And of Course the Row by Row starts June 20th.  The theme this year is Home Sweet Home.  We already have the official fabric in and it is adorable.

Dear Friends,

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.   Heidi started out the year with a new grandson, Easton Joseph.  We have a lot of new classes planned.  Hopefully we will continue to have good weather.  At least not as much snow as last year.  We are very excited about the projects being offered at our Embroidery Retreat in April.  Mark your calendars for the shop hop in July.

We are very excited about offering the Stitchers Garden Quilt.  Two versions will be offered.  One for regular sewing machines…Learn what all those extra feet are for.

And a class for embroidery machines…learn different techniques on your machine.

We are participating this year in the Row by Row Pantie Raid.  From January 15th to 23rd, if you bring in a new packaged pair of undies, socks, or pajamas/gowns we will give you a free fat quarter of your choice.  The “undies” will be donated to the local women’s shelter.
